Morgaine, Where exactly do you live that you are going to Tomball? I live about 12-15 minutes east of Tomball and was there yesterday.
I'm in Hempstead, going back roads it's about 40 minutes to the antique stores there off 2920. I traded a lady at A Corset Binding 20 soaps for a shirt and corset. Now all I have to make is the skirt and cloak.
I also had an appointment with the Lady from Bath Hut but that didn't work out. She's looking for a different style, bright colors and stuff. I think she's looking for more melt & pour type.
That is so cool!!! Are you doing it the old fashion way? Are you making the whole batch right there? How are you doing it? lol I have soo many questions. My MIL thinks that would be a good idea for me to do here. There is a place here called Buckley Homestead and they do re enactments and have people come in and do things that would be done during that certain time period.
Congrats
Thank, I'm really excited about it. The guy is really nice and has been doing faires for a while. From everything I can tell, this is going to be a really nice faire and I hope eventually as big and successfull as the Texas Renaissance Festival.
I don't have everything completly worked out for the demo yet, but I do have a plan. And Yes it will be a demo on the old fashion way. I have to speak "The King's English" and everything! I'm working on new labels and I'm renaming some of my scents to things like Lady of the Lake, Robin of Loxley, Morgan Le Fay, Dragon's Blood.
You should look into it. I'll shoot you a pm if you want explaining my plan.
That would be great if you could explain your plan to me. I might go ahead and try something like that if I don't get to confused lol. I'm just intimidated because I have never even seen a person making soap or anything close to that at one of those things.
That is a great trade for the corset and shirt. I think you got the better deal.
that's what I though. I tried to pay her $20 because my soaps were worth $60 whole sale price (it cost me $20 to make them) and the shirt and corset were woth $76 retail, but she said to just make it an even trade. I didn't argue too much. I stopped by and saw my sil who lives in tomball too.
Here are a few pics for ya all. One from the FM, its not that great because I was in the shadow in the morning. And pics of my soap unmolded. It has been raining here so the lighting sucks.
