I have family in Lafeyette...WITH a tow bar. U poor thing...how stressful for you...at least you are home. Soaping relaxes me too!!

Here is the CUT bars....
Left to Right...Swirled loaf Bay rum, Pumpkin spice, Bergamot Coriander Grapefruit, and half way cured Lavender. I'm giving the next mold...omh, buttermilk/grits, and clean cotton another day. I did not gell those....so it'll take another 24 hours to harden.

these bars are not done yet....I still have to ripple cut the edges....and ORDER BIGGER Muslin bags....I'm coming up with a new package...kind of like an open top BOX to set the bar in...I'll have to post photo of my mock up. It is for the bars with toppings....so it does not muss them all up.

...I'm kind of upset because someone just told me it looked like PIZZA and that they would not USE soap that looked like that. WE are artist....soapmakers....and if you do not have anything nice to say do not say anything at all!!!!

OH....and CW....you do make soap like this!! I started out just like you...I'm 3 years in....it gets better and BETTER and you become more comfortable with the process so you can venture into new territory. Keep it up!! Some bars are beautiful....some NOT so...take it all in as a lesson and a challenge to come back with something better next time.

I would love to see a better pic of the one in the back. What did you ue for that color, I love it and your pumpkin spice.

Yeah, it was 3 in the morning before we got home. I broke down around 4:30 in the afternoon. It was a LOOONG wait. But it wasn't bad, I try to not let stuff stress me when I can't do anything about it.

The swirl is red brick oxide...and the soap is goatsmilk GELLED so it is going to stay yellow colored. I grated plain ol' soap for the top of the pumpkin spice bar and those are pumpkin flakes in the top...bottom layer is CARROT juice....middle brown layer is brown oxide and pumpkin pie spice....and next layer is titanium dioxide goatsmilk fragranced with pumpkin spice fo...which gave it a peachy color. I think I like it...still on the fence.

I think you don't give yourself enough credit because the swirls you make are gorgeous! I Wish I could do swirls like that.

Cheeptrick, how does bay rum sell for you? I got a sniffie from SGS and didn't really care all that much for it. But if it is a good seller I might consider it.

Do you use the 3x5 or 4x6 muslin bags now? I use the 4x6 and my bars usually fit pretty good unless the top is really textured. I have a few of the 5x7 bags but those are really big!

I'm going to go up to the 4x6...but might have to go bigger because the bergamot is VERY big....probably over 7 ozs at least. I'm going to charge $6 for those bars...

First time with Bay Rum...so we'll see. I've got 35 bars of it...it smells cleaner...and my husband loved it. This one is from Sweet Cakes. I liked it enough...to make it...but not doing back flips.
