LOVE THAT MOLD!!! Those soaps are GORGEOUS!! How did you like soaping with cider?? It is my best seller...

I was really surprised how HOT it got, even with ice in there and in a water bath. And the color! I was so worried what the color would end up being, but I'm happy with it, it is the color of cider, which is what I was going for. I think it will have a lot of label appeal though. Hopefully it will sell well.

Pringles cans: has anyone used them? Did you have to line them...how?
I think they would make cute little circle soaps but they have what looks like a "foil" lining and bottom. Just want to CYA you know. Thanks in advance!

Thanks MLF! I'll have to check out that scale. For now, mine is working fine. Although it's just a Chefmate from Target, it does give the option to measure in lbs/oz, oz, gr, and ml. And, it's listed in .1 increments on the oz. and whole grams and can tare between measurements for additional ingredients. If I have to replace eventually, I'll definitely go for one like yours.

Good idea about the plastic bag. If there is ever an example of WHY to do it, I'm it!

On the rose petals . . . I haven't tried it yet. The plan was to soap this afternoon but with the kids back to school today and the special after school cookies and choice of dinner, I've been too busy!

I have tried rose petals on the top before and had an interesting experience - I made two batches - one gelled and the other didn't. On the batch that gelled, the petals lost color. On the batch that didn't gel, most of them stayed their natural color. It would seem that the layer of MP would help. Is the stuff at the craft stores any good for that purpose?

Morgaine - The new molds and the new nifty soap are beautiful!! Nice job on the swirl!!!

Did you have to do anything special with the cider when you used it? I think I'd like to try that with the AJP that is coming this week.

I would just make sure you do what you can to keep it cool. I was surprised how hot it got, even with ice in the cider to make it cool. I had to move it to an ice bath and that helped. And don't let the color worry you. Mine was the color of pumkin pie!

I JUST GOT MY Bath Teas from SFHERB!! I ordered 3 kits....LOVING THEM!! I'll also use some of the herbs for topping soaps etc. (-:

Starting at 1 o'clock going clockwise...rosemary, lavender, chamomile, calendula, spearmint, rose petal and center is juniper berries! Adding epsom salt and organic oats to this...and will put them in coffee tin tie bags!!

LOVE IT...think it's going to be a HOT seller. I'm thinking $15/each now that I see the size of packages better...even bought a 1 lb bag of coffee from Dunkin Donuts this morning just to get a good idea of exactly how big the coffee tin tie bags are!!

I personally CANNOT wait to take a bath with them...I have to test it first right?!?!
