Soap Makers Help!

OK...I was impatient and sliced this morning. It was some work getting it out of the mold...one side did stick a little...but I just smoothed it all back down with the blade of the knife. I sliced...it is absolutely perfect. I notice that when I use silk in the recipe...the soap slices different...I like it. I will post photos ASAP---my camera batteries died! )-:

This batch did get a slight soda ash dust...but not too bad. ??? I'm thinking it is more of the titanium dioxide I used in it...

The swirls are lovely...bar is more square...but I'll just adjust my batch size by about 2 lbs then they'll be perfect size!

It smells really nice. I did 2 parts patchouli and 4 parts peach. It came out nice...

Lurky's husband does not want to sell these...he was being a good friend he says. (-: He truly is a wonderful craftsman though...the mold broke apart very nicely...cleaned up perfectly...and it is ready for another batch. NO MORE PAPER!!

What state are you in? My personal favorite fo is Brambleberry's Oatmeal milk and honey. What kind of scents do you like? Sweet, fruity, dark, musk? You can look up reviews on the Scent review Board. Here are my fav suppliers
Brambleberry
Scent Works-Their Black Raspberry Cream is to die for!
Southern Garden Scents-

I would try to get different kinds of scents. Something sweet, something fruity or citrusy and something clean or dark.

Brambleberry and Scent Works haven't failed me yet for scents. (And the tussah silk at Scent Works is a nice addition to soaps).

BB favorites: Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey, Energy, Cedar and Saffron, and Champagne more holiday-ish but great are Sleigh Ride and Sugared Spruce

SW: Sakura Hanna (OMG!! and I normally prefer unisex/masculine but this is very feminine), Fata Morgana (see previous), Kerala Spice Amber

ok I am going to order some scents now. can everyone give me some ideas on what to get and where.

I am going to order the sampler from Southern garden scents. They let you pick 8 for 20.00.

If you order from Southern Garden Scents, use code BYC09 and you recieve 10% off! Their Dragon's blood is great if you like the incense. It smells just like a renaissance festival. I really like sandalwood ylang, but the sandalwood rose sells better. Pink sugar and witch's brew are nice too.

Ok...I know I'm late on the pics...I sliced it is gorgeous...just tested PH and it's already at 8!!! I snapped a few pictures yesterday...charged the batteries....and DH took the camera to work today

So when he gets home tonight I'll post photos of the Fuzzy Hippie Soap in addition to the CUCUMBER MINT SEA SALT bar I just poured...I put ROCK Sea Salt on top of the bar and petite grain sea salt at trace...embedded plain white soap inside to help with the lather. IT smells lovely! Little more green than I was shooting for..but NICE all the same!

(-: Check back tonight for pics!

I've had some nice scents From Nature With Love. I love their Chocolovers Aquolina Type FO.

Nature's Garden has a Creme Brulee that is really good too, but I warn you for HP it turns dark and stinky at first and then over about two weeks it mellows out and was my best seller at Christmas....not that I ever sold a bunch...!
