Thanks for the compliments.

My soap is NOT pretty. It's just plain light brown and rough around the edges. This is my first year of making soap. I'm going to try coloring next year.

I think those are fabulous (wish I could knit/crochet). Everyone will love them!

Great packaging!! I would love to get a handmade washcloth to go with my handmade soap.

I'm sure the recipients will enjoy them.

I used the end piece of my very first soap I made and the lather is lovely. It isn't very drying either, and the soap is just coconut oil and olive oil. The soap is only 2 weeks old so it has a long ways to go.

I took GM soap and duck-egg ornaments to a Chickenstock yesterday (my first time offering either for sale to the public). I didn't get any pics of my table, but someone else there posted these (Thanks to David for the pics):

I never tried this before so I was really nervous. My pal, Terri (on the left), and my husband, Tom (on the right) --- kept me from going bonkers.

I've got to work on looking happier and/or less cranky about folks fondling my soap.
Next time I'll put out a sacrificial bar of every fragrance with a sign that says "Smell Me".
Hahaha, I sent in 2 GM Oat&Honey bars for the restrooms at the TSC when we first got there and forgot to send the 'soap from of DipsyDoodle' sign to go with them --- I had them --- but everything was so busy, so fast.

I directed boodles of folks that wanted to know about 'making soap' to this thread. I was asked so many questions that I couldn't give a 'definitive' answer to --- how much goats milk does it take to make a single bar of goat milk soap? I could only say "the recipe I use has 'this many' oz of milk to make 'this many' lbs of finished soap and I don't have my calculator handy right now to figure it out".
And "since it has milk in it, do I need to keep it refrigerated?" --- that one I could answer.

The other end-

I'm slowly learning to recognize a light trace so I don't get blindsided by a fast seize (as you can see by the upper left and lower right bars that look like swiss cheese).

My batch will seem to be okay but then I add the scent (EO's) and yee haw, all heck breaks loose.

I'm excited though because it rained all day today so I made more soap and I did my first chlorophyll (sp?) batch with apricot seeds (no scent and no seize!). Hopefully it'll be purdy.
