Socializing Chicks?

I just tell them to stop protesting! It doesn't always work hahaha

Tell me about it. Hahahaha. I'm actually quite concerned that he'll grow up to be aggressive. Any advice in preventing aggression in young cockerels? He shows all the characteristics of being a male...just saying.

I'm having the same issue. Whenever I show up, the chicks act like the apocalypse has come. They go bananas when I reach in to deal with the food and water dispensers. I've tried leaving my hand in for extended periods of time and some gentle touching, but they still think I'm out to get them. I may try the catch-and-hold technique, but my guess is that this will only fuel their fear. They're more that three weeks old now and are starting to fly around in their brooder to get away from me. I fear if any of them gets away from me outdoors I'll never be able to catch them.

bribing them also works wonders. Hard boiled eggs and mealworms are a favorite of all my chooks.
