Okay... so I thought my chicken was going broody, but I think she just takes hours to lay an egg. She sits in the nesting box for half the day and then she'll hop out, there will be an egg and she goes on with life. I feel bad for her though. Do you think there's something wrong? Also, I found a soft egg shell on top of the ledge that they sleep on. They normally don't lay eggs there. I don't know who that came from. Why do they lay soft eggs and why would my chicken be having difficulty laying an egg?
