soft eggs. Help!

One of my hens just started laying. She laid 7 amazing, large, eggs with hard shells but now she is laying soft eggs. The past 4 eggs that she has laid were soft. Is this normal?Anything that I can do? Thanks for your help!

She might need some extra calcium. But soft eggs tend to happen more in new layers/pullets. You could check out http://www.thepoultrysite.com/publi...ndbook/16/thinshelled-eggs-and-shellless-eggs , but this is based on commercial production. Most people will suggest feeding a few oyster shells (free choice), or other calcium rich food or supplements.
