In one of my breeding pens I have a roo with 3 hens (A&M's). Every day I get one soft egg from this pen. It has been happening for almost a week now. They all appear to be eating and drinking fine the only change is the feed. Last week I changed feed mills but the only thing I noticed that is different from the last feed ration was that the new feed has 50#s of oyster shells blending into a half ton of layer feed. (which I thought was a great idea because I don't have any room for another feeder in the pens)
The egg looks fine inside. It just never formed a hard shell. But the membrane is thicker than a normal, hard egg shell.
What do ya think?
