Soft shell Egg? Feeling worried!

You pry the beak open and place in on the tongue, as you would a cat or dog, far enough back so they won't fire it back out like a bullet in a gun. If that happens, retrieve it and place it farther back on the tongue, and close the beak so she can swallow.

This is great info! I thought yesterday I had an egg bound hen. Couldn’t feel the egg but I went about treatment as though. She finally laid over night and I came out to a soft shell separated from the yolk. I will keep her separate and make sure she gets extra calcium each day. She does get picked on and the others have a tendency to keep her away from her feed and the shells she gets. Calcium and vitamin d individually hopefully will work!
