Hi everyone,
I have a 2 year old blue jersey giant that stopped eating over the weekend. What triggered it was that she had been laying soft shell eggs and half of the membrane was stuck inside. I tried hot bath, check her vent but couldn’t find the membrane.

She has been pooping small watery poops (see attached photo), walking very slowly, stopped dust bathing, stopped eating, and been sitting or just standing all day.

The vet that had been helping us with this chicken is booked until a week later. I doubt she could make it with the not eating situation. What can I do to help her? At least I hope to ease her symptoms so she is less miserable.

Thanks for you help.

for soft egg shells they will need calcium added to their food the calcium is what helps their shells get hard. I never had this case with my chickens they did have soft shells now and then but we add calcium to their food and the problem was solved. Also feed her eggs it helps give them nutrients to get better i feed my sick chicken eggs and within a few weeks she was back to her old self i had them scrambled

I would also check to make sure she isnt egg bound
I think she might've been egg bound. She went to nesting box a couple times today but didn't lay anything there.
I've epsom salt bathed her twice this weekend but haven't been able to get anything out. I didn't felt any hard noticeable bulge. She was laying rubber eggs so maybe it was just hard to tell. I read something online to put olive oil into egg bound chicken's vent (with a syringe) to help with this situation. Is that a good idea? It sounds off but I am running out of things to help her.

One thing super strange is that she only eats worms (either dried or live) but nothing else (not even scrambled eggs). I'll try to get some nutri-drench and calcium into her system and hopefully she can survive til the vet visit :(
