Soft shelled egg laid at 3:43 in the afternoon

I had a couple of my girls take a very small break from laying the past 2 months. Wednesday I ended up finding an extra egg that had been laid randomly late in the day. It was thin shelled. Another one late in the day yesterday. This is my 4 ladies 1st year of laying so I think these are just kinks getting worked out as long as it is not the norm. My ladies have been starving lately too

Thanks! I hope so! It really freaked me out. I saw it coming out of her vent and had never seen such a thing. It was also totally shell-less and that REALLY freaked me out.

I had one of my runner girls do the exact same thing as she was running when they were just starting to try to lay. PLOP! Then they got it all figured out and kept my fridge full of wonderful nutrition. I freaked out when they slowed down and had some soft or shell less ones but was told to let them work it out. I do also provide oyster shell and even though I don't always see them eat it I do have to replace it daily. I know they are eating it because I get little calcium deposits every once in a while on their eggs.
