I've been getting a soft shelled egg every day from one of my A&M's. I had 3 girls in that pen and I decided to put all three of them in their own pen last night so I can figure out which one is laying the bad eggs. She's been doing this for about 3 weeks now and I know she's getting plenty calcium. Is there a way to correct this problem or will she always lay the soft shelled eggs?

I had that problem with a few of my A & M quail as well... no amount of higher calcium or protien helped...I ended up having to cull them because not only were they doing t hat then they'd turn around and eat them...and then the other A & M hens that were laying perfectly fine eggs learned to crack and eat their eggs as well. I honestly think that A & Ms have a weak gene in them, something that causes egg issues and possibly even egg eating issues....not everyone deals wiht these issues but many i ahve talked to seem to as well. I no longe rkeep a pen of A & Ms, now I only keep roos for breeding to my tibetans and tuxedos for more tuxedos

I hope you get the issue resolved though!
