I was just curious to know if anyone has done this and if it has been ok....\
We use Intellishock 60 Solar chargers from Premier 1 Supplies. We love them, but recently, one of our batteries is starting to die. The specs of the battery in the Intellishock 60 is: SLA Deep Cycle 12V, 12 Amp hr Battery. You can buy a replacement battery on their site for $38. I found the same spec battery on amazon for $25, but it obviously is another branded battery, not Premier 1.
I guess my question is, if you happen to have one of the Intellishock Solar chargers from Premier 1, have you replaced a dead battery with another branded battery or is it just safer to spend that extra money to buy the battery off their site? My guess is it doesn't really matter what branded battery you use as long as the specs are the same, I just wanted to check
Just curious.
FYI: I did end up just ordering a battery off their site, but I was curious to know if we can use another branded battery in the solar charger. I could save like $15 per battery. That isnt' much to some people, but it is a lot to us.
