Bought chicken netting from premier and don't know what power box to get for it. I know that I want a solar powered one that works on 100 feet of chicken netting.

Want to get it cheap on ebay.

happy owner of a lot of chickens.

I was just looking into them too and wondering the same thing

I bought a solar powered gate opener once. I live in the Pacific NW. It doesn't charge except in the summer.

My advice is to make sure you will get the sun required and don't rely on the charts that say it will work in the overcast conditions.

I could be wrong but when I purchased my fencing from premier I was also able to purchase the solar energizer from them.

Just took a look at their web site and they are listed under energizers. Hope this helps.

Buy the biggest one you can afford. Chicken netting has very small conductors and allot of them so you will loose current through resistance. I would suggest a 15 mile, that will give you about 4000v and knock the crap out of critters after your chickens. And no it wont kill your chickens, it will hurt and they wont like it, but it will not harm them. My chickens tangled with a 150 mile fence charger that puts out 7000v. they were fine, just pretty upset as was I when I tangled with it.

Good luck finding one that has enough power to be effective , and doesn't cost well over $150

When searching for a charger what you want to look at is Joules. 'Mileage' is very misleading.

How is a 6 volt battery supposed to produce the nearly 9 volts required?
