Sapphire Gems do not have crests, no, but they would be blue, not black. I'm baffled.

OOps! They should also have a crest, like a CCL, I believe ...

Idk much about SSs but I think they're a SG Xs CCL type cross. Trying to get the same sex linking on blue but also lay green eggs.

OP I don't believe those birds are any type of Sapphires.

Where did you get them? Was there any other breeds in with them? I am no expert but they don’t look like sapphire sky to me. Maybe it’s the lighting in the photo but they don’t look the right color, and I don’t see the crest.

I was giving the benefit of the doubt to lighting as well, but I think the consensus is that these birds aren't sapphires of any type.

Freaking TSC. They aren't quite fully feathered yet, but they had ALLEDGEDLY RIR pullets and sapphire sky pullets together. They have screwed me twice this year.

To anyone reading that plans on buying chicks there you should do a quick Google search of chicks of whatever breed just to see if they look to match.

Sapphire gems and Sapphire sky's are not the same. I dont know much but I know that lol I GOT SO MANY SR Bin ROOSTERS THIS SPRING THIS SURPRISE ONE MAKES ME WANT TO CRY! and I paid for pullets this go around! I learned my lesson from the straight run bin.
