Sold as Welsummers but look different...

So I got both these girls from a lady who buys from Meyer Hatchery. Don't know if they are good or bad - just giving info. They had the same hatch day (3/6/2013). They look so different. Especially the size of comb but also the feathering. Are they the same breed?

Do you mean Partridge Rock? It's not pencilled.

I guess so.. sometimes can't keep track of the various usages of pencilled and partridge in the poultry hobby. what's the difference between partridge and pencilled in rocks though?

Technically both are pencilled. When you say pencilled rock, it usually means silver pencilled. At least with Plymouth Rock breeders.

l have SPPR and Barred. I sure miss my partridge colouring!

The one in the rear of the second picture looks like an EE mix, no wattles and she seems to have a small muff.

Thanks for your help folks. I'm a little bummed the Rock will not be giving me the pretty browner eggs but I have two Welsummers who will!
Also - the Rock is so pretty I can't really be too disappointed )

Ah! Appreciate the explanation. I know partridge as eb, aka dark brown. The whole hobby should have color names standardized.
