Thank-you!! They are both part of my Mille Fleur project.

I am leaning towards cochins. My friend has some really nice buff cochins. I would love to get some of the ones that are multi-colored though

I like my Cochins a lot. They may have so many feathers that fertility is not good without human intervention. They don't all lay lots of eggs. They are therapy after a hard day at work. All in all they are wonderful.
Patterned birds are beautiful but harder to breed to the Standard of Perfection. Solid colors are usually easier to breed and get good results. Good luck with your decision.

This is a young Columbian Cochin .

Yes, yes, yes! i am biased - cochins are all I ever have had. But my neighbor has welsummers, black copper marans, cuckoo marans, gold salmon marans, dark RIR and blue ameracaunas. I help with those flocks every week - the black coppers are a challange, the ameracaunas are so beautiful but a little flighty, the cuckoos are beautifula and can usually be sexed as chicks. They are all nice birds but none of them have as much personality and beauty as my cochins. There are so many different colors of cochins to chose from, some well established, some still in various stages of developement.
