Soldier Fly Larvae illegal, raised on human waste?

Oh my gosh! I never would have even considered that. Definitely following this thread. That is wild. I personally have fed Grubblies soldier fly larva and they're grown in the US and CA on FDA certified farms. I certainly will be sticking with this brand now unless I find out otherwise :) https://grubblyfarms.com/pages/mission
Grubbly is NOT us sourced — maybe they once were but the bag I ordered does not say where they were raised (on “a farm” — obviously it’s China—they also look black and broken unlike the other USA ones I’ve had before. I’m throwing them out - gross.

I recently ordered 15 lbs of soldier fly larvae ($85) because my chicks are nuts about it, and I use it to lure them back into their coop when their guard dog needs a break. The worms are "manufactured" in the US, but in small print I saw they were farmed in China. It's a fact that that worms are farmed on human waste in China https://www.afr.com/world/asia/how-...g-human-waste-into-black-gold-20150202-133xdd.

I've heard it's illegal for commercial egg sellers to feed them because it's raised on human waste in China. https://cluckin.net/why-is-it-illegal-to-feed-mealworms-to-chickens.html I also read a scientific study showing that parasites from raising worms on human waste (like those that cause Mad Cow Disease) can exist in the dried worms.
When I tried to stop the order, the online seller refunded my money and gave them to me for free. I asked for documentation that they weren't farmed on human waste, willing to pay if she could show proof, but she never answered me.
Anyone have online links to confirm or debunk whether it's illegal for commercial egg sellers to feed worms because of this? Anyone have proof that the worms farmed in China are not raised on human waste?
I am beyond angry right now.I just got duped by misinformation.Said the fly grubs were grown in USA and now I received them and on the box.It says raised in China on usda regulated farms. Brand: FLYGRUBS

No they are not...
Oh really?I'm in the brooder that never happened before I wonder why it's awaiting approval hmmmm Couldn't have anything to do with because I'm talking about misrepresentation of products We are feeding our chickens that are coming from China?Oh that couldn't be why... 🤬

I think I'm going to be sick and go throw up now after reading this.
I have a huge bag of mixed bugs including meal worms, BSFL and others that I just bought (and opened) from the feed store and a different bag that I've been using from TSC. All now is in the trash. Never again. Fresh fruit or mash only. The chickens will eventually get over it. This isn't the first time I've flushed money down the toilet, so to speak.
Thank you for this research. It really is disgusting and I wish we would start manufacturing quality here at home again.
