Some Black headed Swans and babies! PICS!

Very Beautiful! I would love to have some mute swans but were we live now i can't cause i don't have a pond

but there is a small chance that we are moving to Virginia and the house we are looking at in Virginia has a big pond/ lake in the backyard. Im hopeing!

I've never seen a black and white swan before, is it a hybrid? Looks like it's a mute swan crossed with a black swan. Is that normal? I thought hybrids couldn't reproduce?

They are black necked swans, a true breed
about $1500 -$2000 per pair
pretty sure Australian


as to the other with the do you need a permit question, I know it's old, but no, they arent native to the US so no Federal permit is needed​
 
Gosh, never seen them before! Kind of pretty except for that ugly red knob on their head. Looks like a muscovy in the bloodline somewhere!

Those babies are so cute. The Westin in Maui had one of these and my kids fell in love with it. It was very friendly. The kids would sneak food from their meals and feed it to him. That swan was one of their favorite parts of the vacation. I told my son maybe we could find a couple to buy when we got home. Then I saw the price . . . that ended that idea real fast!

yep, that old honker is my only draw back to them too​
