Some feed advice, please

Yes, my leghorns are ex-battery. We got them right before they were going to be destroyed. They seem to be doing quite well now, though 2 of them have crooked toes. The new diet seems to agree with them. I am having trouble getting them to go outside, and they won't use the nest boxes I built. They were laying in The corner of the coop on the floor so I built a new box there. Poor critters don't know how to be chickens. They couldn't even figure out what the veggies I threw them were for until my half-grown pullets showed them.

Thanks. I am really enjoying earning their trust. They are totally not used to people, and I have been trying to handle them frequently. Of course, I wish I had worn a raincoat a few times. Lol. They appear to poop when they get scared.

We are expecting an assortment of baby chicks in the morning. I need some variety. My flock is too white for me.
