Hi we have been given 2 little duckies for our daughters birthday gift and no worries they will be for live.
we have had them now since there were a week old, sex un known and breeds unknown. we're first time owners and so we are looking for any advice you can give on the breed? we have done some research into the sexes and we're are just waiting for feathers n quacking to start to try determining that as nieither of us fancy vent sexing, think the ducklings may be toold for this now also.

many thanks in advance any help you can give

regards
Mummy and Millie Rose

Also Cheese and quackers (quack quack) x x

the ducks are in the profile pic bt will try to add some to the thread at a later time. x

Hi, it would help to know what part of the world you are in. Also, did the ducks come from a local farm, or were they ordered from a hatchery? Knowing what breeds the farm/hatchery works with will help determine what you have.

Thanks.

im in the Uk. my sister got them from her local pet store, in Essex. Which has since closed down. unfortunately the store worker was not much help either, she did not know where they had come from, its mt believe we rescued them just in time as the pet store did not seem to care much for its animals

Congratulations! Do you have any photo's that show their feet? Odd request, isn't it? But sometimes a look at feet can help. For example, Muscovies tend to have what I consider dinosaur feet. Some breeds have multi colored feet. And if they are a mix, well it gets really interesting!

hi here are some photos of their feet, not great but best i could get.
Quackers is the one with two coloured feet n the dark duck.
Cheese is the one with pink feet n yellow/white duck.

any help with their breed is greatly apprciated

Kind regards and many thanks

Thanks for the foot pics.

They do look like they are at least a runner cross. We raised eleven runners from day-old, and they stand quite a bit like our chocolate and black runners.

Oh, they are so sweet looking!!!!
