Some info on Houdans appreciated

I would love to hear from folks owning Houdans. Are they friendly? Flighty? Calm? Weather NY winters?
I'd love to add 1 or 2 to my flock, but try to keep like birds together if possible. I have silkies & polish. Some sultans hatching in a couple of weeks so was looking to see if a houdan would be a good match for a mixed yop hat flock.

My 2 year old had a pet Houdan last summer, but unfortunately she died. I've been searching for another Houdan everywhere locally and can't find any! I found a person who used to breed some Houdans but she said they were so delicate and difficult to keep alive that she gave up!

But as far as personality goes, our Houdan was SO sweet. She loved my toddler and would peep for her and fly into her arms, she loved being carried around. She was very similar to the Polish except she had an extra toe and she was even more funny and friendly. We love crested birds at our house. Have you ever looked into Spitzhaubens? I have two of those and they are also funny and social crested chickens. I also have a crested Crevecouer that is hardy and a forager, and very friendly and cute.
