some of the best things God has given us

Chickens!

And all animals for that matter

Oh gosh SO MUCH to be greatful for! Sunrises and sunsets over the mountains near our home, the rooster crowing in the morning when I am feeding the horses, the horses all nickering to me at breakfast time, the dogs coming up and pushing each other out of the way to get petted, the kids coming to visit (but leaving eventually

), my DH putting up and actually enjoying all of my animals, having our own small "farm" to enjoy all of these things.
There are days I might not remember to be thankful for all of it but I am.
ETA - BTW old geezer, thank you so much for starting a thread like this. It is good to stop and think of what we are blessed with every so often!

The ability to see Him through His creation even though my brain is the size of one of my feathered friends. And, of course, my beautiful, supportive, God-fearing wife.

I am thankful this morning to be able to read the wonderful thoughts of friends I never met It is wonderful to know that in a world with war (my Army son is in my thoughts), catastrophic weather and other events - natural and man-made, and all the bad news we see and hear each day from the media, that there are others out ther who can still see the good in what we have been given. Thanks to all for your thoughts and insight. Peace.

Happy tears. A really good red wine. Unconditional love and understanding of true friends. Unbelievable grace of God. A glimpse of a deer family in a field at dawn. Painting a room the perfect color. A patient responding to my treatment (I'm an EMT). Overhearing a child having a conversation with a pet. Kicking my legs in fresh, cool sheets. Unusual cloud formations. Every single sunset. The smell of fresh bread. I could go on and on for pages! God holds nothing back from His children, and I am so grateful for everything! Next time someone asks, "how are you?" surprize them by replying, "never better! This is the best day of my life so far!"

To open a window in early spring after a long, harsh winter here in the Tug Hill area in NY just to hear the birds singing happily. I am looking forward to my 4 girls piping in with excitement also.
