I'm not naive by any means, but when I experience the pettiness/hatefulness of people, it makes me disgusted and depressed at humankind. I guess it has to do more with the replies I got when asking for help figuring out why my ad was flagged than the flagging of the ad. People got on and called me things from an idiot to a "goose flipper". It didn't hurt my feelings so much as ignite my indignation and my desire to prove that I'm neither of those things. But now I realise that there is no sense in trying to justify myself to any of those less endowed in the mental department.

Why dont CL put a "flag this as spam" link in the emails it forwards to you. I get 50 a day that all say "do you still have Hatching for sale"

I think a lot of it is like someone else said... people who have the same thing for sale but are charging more, so they keep flagging your ads to get them removed, so THEIR ads are the only ones people see.

Just keep rewording and reposting. That's what I do. It's such a shame people feel the need to do that.

I've been trying to sell a pig and have dozens of replies of "Is the pig still available?" I reply and never hear anything else! Now they are starting to flag the ads! I wondered how the flag works too. I have flagged before and nothing ever happens. Do you have to be a certain "qualified" person to do so? Its always innocent sounding ads that get flagged. The obvious bad ads never get flagged!

Most of the "Is the pig still available" are probably email address farmers. The collect your email address when you respond an once the have enough they sell them to spammers.
That's why you see people saying to put this or that word in the subject line or they wont respond.

You dont even have to be signed in to flag. All flags are counted equally but its the amount of flags it takes to remove the ad that changes.

Most of the time it is people selling the same item.
But if you look in their forum, their are GROUPS of people that flag for a hobby. Can you imagine?

And sometimes it is the manner's police. You aren't suppose to use capital letters and silly stuff like that.
And if you read their terms of service it tells you to ask for a rehoming fee so your pet, kitten, guinea pig or such does not become snake food.

When I get flagged I figure it out pretty quick and flag them back. We have 3 emails here so I knock their ad off the page. Then I repost mine and it usually gets left alone.
