That is so cool! We had honey bees in our attic when we bought our house. Wish we could have saved them! Your pictures are really good for a camera that's acting up!

Are you going to send us all some honey??????? I LOVE honey!

LOL

That is really cool. I have been wanting to do beekeeping ever since a massive swarm of honey bees flew in our yard on a little tree. They stayed there for a hour or two and then flew away. I then did some research on bees and beekeeping and maybe we can do it one day. I have plans right here in my drawer for a bee hive! LOL

Can't you influence the taste of your bees honey by the flowers/plants you plant near them?

The honey can change flavor wise based on what type of bud the nector is mostly coming from. Like Orange bud honey...Blueberry bud honey..etc.

I thought so. I remember seeing a show where the bee keepers said their honey had this flavor due to the herbs and plants they had. That is neat. I think I go thru a jar of honey right by myself every two weeks, I put it on everything I eat.

Wow Sam! Those are some beautiful bees you have there!
Several years ago I had 27 strong colonies of Italians. Due to unfavorable homeschooling laws in our state at that time we moved to another state and I had to leave them. I have not since been situated until now to get a new start on my chickens or bees.
This year I am starting a new flock of chickens and have about broke the bank so there's not anything left for the bees. Maybe next year though. (This year if I get lucky enough to spot a swarm.)
Funny thing, my first colony was from a swarm in our city yard which I captured and in the same year got another swarm. I don't think I've even seen a swarm since then though. That was about 20 years ago.
When I got my first chickens this year I realized how much I had really missed my birds and my bees. I couldn't believe how much pleasure I used to get from them and I've determined to start keeping bees again as soon as I have the chance.
Thanks for sharing your pics. It did me good to see them!
