I have learned that I am part of a family of crazy chicken people

Chickens smell wonderful when they've been out all day.

They have a complex language.

They don't always think things through, but some of the things they think of amaze me!

I have learned that if I firmly remind DH of how many times I stood over his shoulder for 20 minutes while he talked about the camo pattern he was going to put on his gun stock and looked at 90 different shades of "sand", he will sit for 20 minutes and listen to me prattle on about my chickens. He's even gonna expand the coop! Cuz after all. he got to leave hunting for a week. What can I say, after I had to get rid of all of the horses but one he said "you need a hobby"! The poor man! Now I caught him petting a hen the other day. The little fluffy butts kinda sneak in the back door on you!

That no matter how smart you think you are, a chicken is smarter....You will waste dollars and hours, trying to keep the chickens out of the fruit trees or the garden.
