Somebody dropped a box with a chick on my porch!

Geesh, what's with neighbors and dropping off baby bunies?!!! We had our neighbor knock on our door and ask us if we wanted these wild baby rabbits that he'd found. He'd hit the mama with a lawnmower. Of course asking is pretty much just GIVING them to us--- how could you say no to BABY RABBITS?!!! Of course, not a single one made.

Here she is. So cute and she is super friendly. When I opened up the bathroom this morning I greeted with a "Mommy!". She went crazy with happy chirps until I opened the kennel and gave her some attention.

I have been raising chickens for 10 years now. I have also gotten around alot. I am the one that everyone calls when they have an unwanted chicken or have a chook they have rescued.

This person probably asked somebody else where I lived and then just stopped by.

The box had a bunch of holes poked in it, so was obviously an animal box. She was also going crazy inside the box. You could've heard her a mile away. As soon as I opened the box, though, she was all happy chirps and puring.

My only reaction was, "great, now I have another chicken." Cause, honestly, what universe would I have said no in? Doesn't exist. LOL.

people can be such idiots!! I cant print the B word I really want to use. I am glad you have a loving heart. God knew you would do right by her! I believe you were meant to have her. God bless.

I go through the same thing. Its like we have a sign on our house. I get puppies, kittens, rabbits & so on. Its crazy. Hope your new baby makes it. You have a good heart & thank you for caring for the little misplaced chick.

Maybe if you tactfully ask around, you can find out where the box came from. Evelyn is sooo cute! I'm glad you didn't send her to the shelter

Thank you for saving the poor girl. I know you probably needed this like a whole in the head (I've said that every time someone has dropped off an animal). But I am always thankful that they dropped them off rather than dumping them somewhere to suffer or die. You're a good soul - Too bad there aren't more people out there like you!
