Somebody lost, I found. Any ideas???

In case it's not clear, that is a baby duck of some sort, either a domestic Mallard derivative, or possibly Muscovy. I'd say maybe 3 weeks old? It's got a lot of baby fuzz and the tiny baby wings. It'll grow like a weed for the next few weeks. It can eat a basic chick starter that doesn't have antibiotic medications in it with the addition of a niacin supplement (I use brewer's yeast, toss a little on top when you feed). It will love chopped greens and veggies as treats. Also, the suggestion to get it a companion is a good one, ducks are not happy by themselves. It's sure a little cutie, I wonder how it got out by itself? Maybe someone is really looking for it? If I lost a duckling, I'd be pretty upset.

No idea where it came from. It was in the street. I live in a very rural area. I have contacted my local feed store and put a flier up but no responses. There is only one feed store in my area. I have found it a home with other ducks.

Good for you it will be happier with it's own kind.

its a black and white pied/barred muscovy around 2-3 weeks. No doubt about it, ezactly like what mine looked like.

(it used to be in the goose section and was moved)

I've never had any ducks or geese and someone told me when I found it it might be a goose. I really didn't think it was a goose but I posted in BOTH the Geese and Duck forums. One of the OP's deleted it from the Geese forum so it is only in the Duck forum I have only had chickens for the past 45 years.

Finding it another home with other ducks is a great idea.

If its a muscovy, it's mother could have hatched it either wild or feral, they reproduce well.
