Someone Asked for Suede ... Blue Orp Pics

Even Suede's back is a tad long, but he is a good case in point. You dont have to start with absolute perfection to have a good quality line. You see Ellie's pullet, Hyacinthe, has dark eyes, while Delilah has golden eyes. But you have to cull for proper traits; any breeder does. It's why DeDe will be leaving the breeder coop when the other two are ready to go in with Suede (even though her eggs already go in the fridge now). Then we should see some even more awesome progeny for that group. If I left all emotion and sentimentality out of my chicken-keeping, I might sell Suede and get a rooster who has what Suede is lacking, but that's not me. Suede's temperament above all is why he is still here. I'm very attached to my big blue turkey.

I agree to get the full Suede effect you have to see him in person. He is HUGE.

I have 12 of his little ones (only 4 girls) and the brother to his future wives. He is a total mush ball pecks your feet to tell you to pick him up. lol

* I printed 2 color photos for myself of Suede while at the library, Cyn. Hope that's o.k. with you. He has sure grown into a "hunka, hunka burning love", that boy!! WOW-WEE!!! What kinda protein count and feed is that big bird eating?? I need to get some. . . .

I've never fed him much special, just during their molt, the whole group got Game Bird Breeder crumble for extra protein. It's a bit pricey to keep them on all the time, though, so they are on 16% layer pellets and 11 grain scratch thrown out to call them home from ranging.
You are welcome to have a Suede pin-up, LOL.
