Someone dropped a box of 17 chickens at the end of our driveway... Hayes, VA

Obviously it's cruel and irresponsible but here I am finding a lot of humor in your predicament. The funniest part is they're really nice breeds! I hope they aren't worm and lice ridden, or worse. Otherwise, it's like someone's fancy fowl medley fell off the back of a delivery truck.

We're leaving them alone for an hour to calm down. Hopefully they'll come back out and make their way towards the food and water we left.

Funny thing is our place can't be seen from the road at all. There would be no way for someone just passing to know we have birds. We're have one neighbor about 500 feet from us, so unless it was just a friend of theirs, it was just by chance maybe that they were left here.

Have you checked with your neighbor to see if they were expecting a delivery of chickens?
