Someone keeps making complaints about my chickens! (Update post #222!)

isn't there a way to find out who this jerk is? i mean in the days of technology there has to be a way! did you check craigslist for any posts? You know how there is a site that will give you the address of a phone number etc....isn't there one for emails

You could maybe see if any divore records from 202 have a neighbors address? i am grabbing at straws right now!

And for the easement, it's in your land survey/Tittle. You can not have a house on a back property and you live on the front and block their right to get to their property. It's a common easement and against the law! The house will have that on it's paperwork. If they block you for 7 years in some states, they have full right to that land. It's kinda a legal way to steal property. I wouldn't slck on that! having it surveyed would help that! Then they could be charged with harassment or maybe something else.

Ok, so evil side....take her email and send it to adult sites, VD sites, AIDS sites and more~ They will spam her to death....LOL but reeally she will get it in the end!!

One thing you might consider is lattice or snow fence around your run and/or yard. These are relatively inexpensive and do a pretty good job of screening. You can plant greenery to grow up on it too.

BTW, if you have a genuine nut case who has it in for you, if it weren't the chickens, it would be something else. Screening would be your best bet. And motion lights.

LOL I so wish it wasn't me. I know for sure it is though, because she posted about me letting my chickens out in the afternoons. She's so stupid, she thinks I'm doing it after hours of code enforcement so they can't catch me.

I can't quit laughing over that.

I know what her name is. I looked up her email address on Facebook and she has a public profile. She doesn't have a myspace, or anything else like that I could find. I gave her name and a print out of her Facebook page with her email address to the police.

They now have it in their records.

I'm debating whether to just continue ignoring this or to email her and let her know that we called the police, they have her (real) name, and a record of all of her cheapcycle posts concerning chickens and her emails to me, and that we are considering this harassment.

I'm honestly not sure if she's smart enough to grasp that.

I want to see how she responds. Just don't mention anything about me in your emails so she doesn't have more things against me.

Post a "real" item, and in your text say what you need to. I do have to wonder if she is actually the cheapcycle owner, though.

You do want to make sure that all the bad behavior is on her part, not yours. Every time she posts something about you, notify the police, and be sure to use the term "stalking."

What kind of fencing do you currently have? There are plastic slats you can weave through chain link, or you can get shade cloth and cover it with that. Fast growing vines work well, too, but this isn't the best time of year for those in most locations.

I cannot confirm or deny this. However I would seriously try emailing that person...to you know...find out.

Except maybe you should try hotmail. I hear it's more accurate than gmail.

wow, sorry you have a neighbor like this, but um... have you googled her? i did. are you a member of Freecycle? cuz she posts there too, and i believe the rules there are alot different cuz of being a nonprofit, or trying to get the non profit status. i m a memeber of freecycle, But not cheapcycle, so i dont know the rules there. Man she loves the internet. you know what you need to do is get a pair of binocluars and when your chickes are out, scan all your neighbors houses untill you catch the one looking out her drapes. see its NOT illegal, cuz you are "bird watching". a friend of mine once put up a video camera right into her nieghbors proeperty cuz he was hitting her kids thru their fence, he called the cops. they said, nope shes videotaping her fence from her property, its allowed. also since you have her email there is this lovely thing called "casual encounters" on craigslist.... hint hint.

If you have already supplied the police with info, sit back and don't respond or counter-attack this neighbor. Give the police the benefit of the doubt that they can take care of this annoying neighbor. You have no obligation to warn this person that you are accusing them of harassement. Like I said in an earlier post, you have class and don't need to stoop to their level to accomplish what you need done. Which is to GET THEM OFF YOUR BACK!! I know it is easier said than done. Hang in there! Reading your frustration makes me LOVE my neighbors even more!! I am one of the lucky ones!

Oh boy, do I feel for you OP. I have two neighbors alot the same but not as bad. They called the police about my chickens but the police did nothing. These two windbags call police on every neighbor they have. They have a reputation with the police here. I have completely left them alone and don't talk to them and they got bored when they realized I was completely unphased by their harrassing crap (it actuallly drove me nuts but I didn't let them know). I can't wait till I move farther out and don't have nosy neighbors so close. I would keep to myself if I were you and see if it just blows over. Maybe they will get bored. If they don't stop I would eventually file charges on them. Why, oh why, can't people mind their own business?!!! I really feel for you, I know the frustration you must feel. hang in there.
