Someone keeps making complaints about my chickens! (Update post #222!)

I do share eggs with those neighbors sometimes, just because I like them. They're grandparent aged but have no grandchildren and they like to give trinkets and stuff to my 3 year old daughter.

Next time I see her outside I'll take some eggs and go over and talk with her!

Maybe the "I wish I knew who was unhappy with my chickens, so I could work things out with them .... <sigh> will work.

i would suggest asking a few neighbors that you know like the chickens to write a letter stating that they aren't a problem. make sure they include where they live in relation to you and how long they have lived there. you don't really need to do anything with these letters now, but they would be nice to have on hand for future reference if it comes to that.

you might also ask the nice elderly couple to contact whoever it is at the police department, etc, that you have been dealing with. i can understand their hesitance in giving out the information to someone involved, but if you explain that you are being harassed and are afraid for the safety of your chickens and child, they may be willing to tell the police what they know. the police won't get involved for slander, but they will get involved if this person is encouraging people to falsify claims/evidence. that is illegal.

I know how you feel. I HAD weird neighbors like that. There were no laws or codes against my dogs but they harassed me to no end until I moved out in the country. My two dogs are a non agressive female rottweiler that is my service dog & a small breed female (bichon frise). They never barked or bothered anyone. These jerk neighbors had dogs of their own that barked non stop, growled & would bite the fence whenever we would walk to our car.

We do have wild turkeys around here, but not in my neighborhood that I've ever seen. However this person does seem dumb as rocks, she probably doesn't even know what a chicken is...

This is what she emailed to someone today:

Thank you, but the situation is being handled. It really is a shame people have no respect for others, you work hard and then some nuiscance neighbor destroy's everything,I am glad the neighbors around there are allpulling together. If it wasn't for this group it prob. would have taken longer. I am soo glad there are good people on here.

I'm hoping she's still full of sh**. But it makes me a little more nervous after my neighbor told me someone was trying to get him and his wife to call and complain. I know the neighbors right behind me, the ones to the left of my house, the second house to the left, and the three directly across the street all would never make complaints against me. That doesn't leave many direct neighbors...the only other neighbor right beside me is the new neighbor that I haven't met.

I also don't know how she would be handling the situation if she's already called the health department, the code enforcement, and the police have even approved the noise of the rooster. What else is left??​
