Someone please help!!! I'm new to raising chickens and I need some help

you have them in the incubator? instead of a brooder? If that's the case, I'd put them in a brooder first off. You should be starting to wean them off of heat, in increments.

as for the beak, I can't help much there, being new to this whole thing myself. What did he break his beak on?
She means broke through the egg.

Hi Vicki. Incubating chicks is the most exciting, and frustrating thing at the same time. Don't worry, we've all been through the first hatch initiation. Do you have your brooder set up? Have you bought your chickstarter feed? Is your heat source on, so the temps will be correct when you go to transfer your chicks from the incubator to the brooder? Is your feeder, and waterer clean, and ready for you to put feed, and water in, and ready to be filled, and put in the brooder when the chicks are added? These things will help keep you busy, so you don't try to interfere with the hatching process. It sounds like things are going good, so all you have to do is wait it out.

Hello:frow
Welcome to BYC!!
So glad to have you here!!
Thanks for sharing your story!!
It may seem like they are having trouble hatching the first few hour but like stated they can and some will take up to 24 hours to fully hatch. Just leave them untill it becomes to long and then if you have to after said amount of time to help them. There are threads to help with that.
Once they hatch leave them in the bator until all have hatched. Chicks live on the yolk for 3 days so they will not need the water or food right away.
There are many people on here that are ready to help in anyway they can!
The learning center also has alot of great information on it as well!
Enjoy!:wee

Always wonder what happened to the OP in these cases.
Did they forget they asked the question,
can't find their way back to the site,
or......??
I often think the same. Maybe they read what they needed to know and just forgot to respond. Their in a "panic" and just forget.
