I didn't know it was against the law to have a hawk feather.

I've had it for years. It sit's with my egyptin collection (looks good there too)

I don't have to get rid of it do I?

I found it in my mom's back yard. I didn't pluck it out of the bird.

Sry to seem angry,did not mean anything by it personnaly.Just dont like my babys or anyones being picked apart.I do understand the depletion of our predatorial birds.Also to add I am a Mashpee Wampanoag.I beleive in the spirit of the animal.I am not trying to stir up a bowl of hate here, just trying to comfort a friend who is at loss.I have felt that loss and it dosnt sit well with my kind heart!

Remember how as kids we would pick up the old blue eggs of robins because they were so pretty even though there was only part of one, the remnits of a nest that had been blown from a tree? Those and all bird feathers (except chickens) are against the law to have.

In all honesty, I have a few feathers myself along with at owl wing and talon from an owl that was hit by a car. I have feathers that were given to me by several medicine people from different paths.

I think you should be fine with your feather. Just hide it if the cops show up, lol
