Someone's threatning to kill my chickens!

first off,,, its illegal to threaten to kill anyones animals,, second they HAVE to let you have a report ( usually charge $%) and the name of the complainant MUST be on it.
i'd ask the cop-wannabe if the dude threatening your PRIVATE PROPERTY was written a summons for it...if not, ask him why he does his job 1 minute, but ignores his job the next.
you can get really REALLY PO'd with cops, and let them know,, just dont scream or use fowl <heh,, language, or threaten them,, other then that you can basically tell them exactly what ya think bout em.

My experience is the people with the big mouths are the biggest cowards. Just the
fact he threatened to kill the chicken while talking to the police tells me he isn't
serious and the police aren't taking it seriously either.

Just get rid of the roo. Your parentss hens will be fine.

The reality is he would of killed the rooster already, not called the police.

Human Nature 101.

Why is he a "cop-wannabe"?? Because he followed up on a complaint? If the OP had received the threat directly instead of being informed of it by the police, then the OP could call the police and they'd respond to that too. That's called doing their job.

he's a wannabe because even telling a cop your gonna kill someones property is AGAINST THE LAW.
so like i said,, he did HALF his job.
now ask me how i know this,,,,,it cost me $155 for threatining to kill a dudes dog that was barking at 3 in the morning,, and i told the cop i was gonna,, not the person.

EDIT: to say it was in Lynn ark. too lol

Oh, so it comes down to being mad that someone else didn't get into trouble for something you did get in trouble for. Whatever!

Ok everyone take a breath. Gritsar has a very special person in her life that is a good
cop and I'm the son of a good cop. Everyone always seems to blame the police.
Being a cop is a no win job and usually results in a decreased life span. Like any
occupation, there are good and bad ones too.

Even the OP doesn't know what was said to the dispatcher or the responding officer.
We don't have enough to draw any conclusions here so let's not. He may have said
"I wanna kill it". Most situations are the officers discretion.

I'm surprised to hear you got a summons or fine for making a threatening statement
to an officer. I believe you. I got $400 in fines when my Husky killed a wild duck.

nope,, im not mad 1 bit that he didnt get in trouble,, doesnt bother me,,what does bother me is that we all pay that cops wages,,,and i dont think too many people like paying someone to do a job, and they only do half of it.
and i THOUGHT the OP said the cop told her that the "person" threatened to kill her rooster. if not,, sorry,,, if so,,,well my OPINION stands. and before this gets locked because you wanna get personal about my opinion,,dont.
im not saying anything bout how you must be married or a relitive, or a friend of a cop am i?
wink.png
,, and i can give you NUMEROUS phone #'s to a few police chiefs, and their buddies who will tell you how much i help cops, and how we used to play racquet ball 3 times a week together,, so,, i dont have anything against cops, or people that get away with things,,( i get away with ALOT
wink.png
) but i DO have a problem when my $ and my friends and families $ is wasted.,, kinda like the firefighters comming to your house thats on fire,, and only puttin it half out,,, then sending ya a big ole bill.
now MY comments was about the OP problem,,i didnt get personal,, you choose to,,,why?
big_smile.png
now,, so another THREAD doesnt get wasted,, you can direct your comments to me in PM and save the "mods" from telling us to "GO TO BED" ,,hehe

That's just way too vague for me. It still screams of some bigmouth neighbor.

The OP has acknowledged that roosters do not conform to local ordinances so technically
the neighbor has a right to complain, just not make threats.

Everything will be fine. No one is gonna kill any chickens.

I have roosters and my neighbors hate them. To be considerate I cull or give them
away. But sometimes they start crowing at 8 weeks when they are 2 pounds.
Then I go into "scr*w them mode". There are several barking dogs and nothing
grates on me like dogs that bark constantly. But I digress....
