Have you seen any signs of respiratory disease in other chickens, or have you added any new birds recently? Do you have a rooster or chicken wire that she could have injured her beak? Is that mud or secretions on her beak? Is the beak broken?
She’s been wheezing and it’s been going on for about two weeks. It started off. It’s just big black bumps on her nose to me. Look like Bumblefoot on her beak but now it’s turned into something much worse.
Can you get her cleaned up? If there is nasal gunk mixed with feed or dirt, it can clog up her nostrils. Use soap and water, peroxide, and a wooden toothpick to get the nostrils cleaned out. Be careful not to damage them. Do you have any antibiotics that might treat MG or coryza? Tylosin or Denagard can treat MG. Sulfa antibiotic will treat coryza which has a bad odor. Have you seen any respiratory infection in the past? They can be contagious.
