Dogs are barking at something and chickens are also producing odd alarm calls in the dark. I think there is a lot of woodcocks stacked up here caught between recent warm spell and storm event coming tomorrow. The day before I could better than a dozen males calling on the ground. When they launched they did appear to be going up to display, rather they were flying northeast. When we pulled into drive just a bit ago we flushed a couple walking around in drive and dogs where watching them. The woodcocks will either need to fly south or possibly hunker down for some really bad weather coming tomorrow night.
