i blamed my dog because yesterday i found one of my young pullets in the front yard beaten to smithers and luckily still alive it is where the dog usually plays . and when i went to coop i couldnt find a hole where he got in so thought maybe a chicken hawk got through a downed section of top cover, fixed that and this am went to check on injured chicken and the dog had another one of my pullets. still alive again just shook up, bt when i went to coop no holes or anything but some loose feathers in coop and some blood on a block into coop and now four more of pullets are gone?? i think the dog scared away whatever was takinf my hens as he was just playing with the one this am i had trouble with a skunk awhile back and caught a opossum in a live trap but then it has been quiet? they are in a welded wire pen with logs holding down bottoms and a fly netting on top?? i can start penning them at night but other than that any suggestions?

  2. Bait the trap with a couple whole eggs and keep it set. The dog is a good deterent.
