Something Got in Our Run

We have wire ran around the bottom of our coop. It is not regular chicken wire. Well after 6 months of nothing be able to get in it, last night something managed to dig and chew until they were able to get through it. We are trying to figure out what it was. It killed four chickens but does not look like they ate anything off of the bird which I thought was really weird. Below is the pic where they dug up the grass and ate through the wire. Any idea what this may have been?

Yes I’m sure there are. We live in the country where everyone has 2+ acres and we see loose Dogs running around even so often

No I did not get pics of the birds. My husband is working on fixing the coop now.

Are those canine tracks from whatever dug in or do you have a dog that was sniffing around the area?

Could be most any predator, coyote, fox, bobcat to name a few. If you have a game camera put it up and maybe a trap too. It will be back and has probably been lurking. I have electric wires around my coops and pens and nothing get past them and concrete under the gates. Also an apron around the bottom of your run. Good luck...
