Something happened to my egg...

I am incubating some eggs right now and we just now finished candling for lockdown and when we candled my RIR’s (hotsauce) egg, we saw this...

As we were turning the egg while candling it, it seemed as though there was fluid in it.
Anybody know what happened? Drown? None of the other eggs were like that. The rest looked healthy and they were moving, but not that one.

I don't see any sign of an embryo. My guess is a quitter. When was the last time you candled and did you see a viable embryo at that time.

I also just recently had one of these recently right before lockdown. It looked very similar. It was indeed a quitter.

Not unusual. Nothing you or your birds did wrong. Sometimes they just die.

Feel bad for the one that died but rejoice for the ones in lock down.

Hope you have a good hatch with your remaining eggs.

Yes, it did have an embryo, in fact it was the healthiest and fullest one out of all of them.

They are just fine, healthy and full.
