I just set up a trap a little bit ago actually, all I have to put in there was some tuna. I don’t know if that will attract one if that is what it isThis is just my guess. I would set traps.
Yes, we still have 5 remainingBest way to find out is a trap. You could use one of your dead ducks but I understand that would be hard to do. We’re there more than 4 ducks together this morning?
Coons here in Ohio travel in the night to get their prey. The ones I have lost to them have always ate the whole inside of the duck out. I think it sounds more like a mink. They kill multiples and will without eating anything. Sorry I am late on this thread. I just saw this. Hopefully you have found the culprit by now.Would they be out in the mornings around 9am?? I know we have them around, but I’ve never seen them in the mornings. I will definitely be getting traps
We were never able to determine what killed them, but we did narrow it down to either a hawk or a mink. Everything was most suggestive of a hawk though.Did you find out what killed your ducks? My daughters rabbits were killed by bites to the neck by a cat. Also were not eaten. It would be good to know for sure. Please give us an update when you can.
I had read somewhere that minks will make small holes in the neck and suck the blood out of the victims. I don't know if that is true or not. They also kill multiples at one time.Hawks kill for amusement? I didnt realise.
