Something has killed 4 of my ducks… what do I do???

I just set up a trap a little bit ago actually, all I have to put in there was some tuna. I don’t know if that will attract one if that is what it is

Best way to find out is a trap. You could use one of your dead ducks but I understand that would be hard to do. Were there more than 4 ducks together this morning?

I sure wish I knew for sure, I would not let the others free range until you know what your up against. If you have game cameras I would set them up too.

Would they be out in the mornings around 9am?? I know we have them around, but I’ve never seen them in the mornings. I will definitely be getting traps

Coons here in Ohio travel in the night to get their prey. The ones I have lost to them have always ate the whole inside of the duck out. I think it sounds more like a mink. They kill multiples and will without eating anything. Sorry I am late on this thread. I just saw this. Hopefully you have found the culprit by now.

Did you find out what killed your ducks? My daughters rabbits were killed by bites to the neck by a cat. Also were not eaten. It would be good to know for sure. Please give us an update when you can.

We were never able to determine what killed them, but we did narrow it down to either a hawk or a mink. Everything was most suggestive of a hawk though.

I had read somewhere that minks will make small holes in the neck and suck the blood out of the victims. I don't know if that is true or not. They also kill multiples at one time.
