That happened to us last year and we've never had it happen before either. Also ate part of every tomato, even the green ones. This year I fenced it and so far the plants have been ok. I think it was a groundhog.

If I didn't fence the tomatoes in... the chickens would probably zone in and eat all the leaves. I know the turkeys ate off every leaf they could reach last year... but they also did eat a thistle plant top to bottom thorns and all.

No she had a good long tail , used to wrap it around my neck when she got bigger.We kept her for a year and then released her in the woods out back. We still see her every now and then but she keeps her distance.
