I went to the cage and take a picture of the chicks

And like 30 minutes later I went to check on them again but they were gone. Where I live there is no hawk to attack even the older birds but these two mysteriously disappear.
one more thing my cage is always open because I allow them to go in and out anytime they want. And this has never happen before so I’m curious to what could be the problem

If they were only a day old is it possible a cat or snake got them? Or even small birds eat other birds.

I don’t have cats or snakes I think it have to be some birds that come down to eat and drink

It probably was one of those birds 😔 My husband had a brown trasher build a nest and hatch out some babies in his shop and then a bluejay came and ate them 😭
