I let tbe girls freerange about 10 am. I went out at 1and the chickens were in there coop and there was one missing. I found a pile of feathers and intestines. What do you thinj got her.

Aliens!

Most critters would not gut the chicken, and take the "good parts" and leave the guts behind ... however it could have been a human also ... any homeless people around, or just hungry people?

Where abouts in the world do you live? country? state? ...

What kind of predator's do you have in the area?

Do you live out in the country, or in a town or city?

We live in the country, but not far from town. The only day preditors I see are cats and hawks. The chickens are not visable from the street, so I dont think human.we live in Porter Texas.It was not all its guts just a small amount of intestine. No blood so they left pretty quickly.

You neglected to say how big the chicken was but it sounds to me like a chicken hawk of some kind or the other killed her.

She was 4 months old. Not very big.

I suspect a hawk or even an owl. I saw a hawk catch and kill a dove recently leaving a little entrals & feathers only when it flew off with balance it had not eaten.

If only feathers and some guts left, probably canine, dog, coyote, fox......
