Something was in my bed.....

Many years ago I had the great idea to get a ferret. It was a female and still intact. She went into heat soon after we got her. I was told that ferrets can die from infections if they are not bred when in heat so I found an intact male and had her bred. She had a litter of three little ferrets kits that looked like pinky mice that you get to feed snakes. Away, I woke up one night to hear this squeaking sound and realized that she had taken the kits out of the cage and placed them in the bed with the wife and I. I woke up my wife and we SLOWLY got out of bed. Found the kits and put them back in the cage locked up this time. We had her fixed after that and she lived to be ten years old. She died in her sleep on a pillow next to my head as I took a nap on the couch one afternoon. All in all she was a good pet. Had to wash her regularly otherwise she had an odor. Sweat girl, she is missed.

Okay - the worst.
We get home from 2 weeks vacation.
I go in the bedroom and there's this weird smell...

I look around and don't see anything, so I open the windows so it can air out and think nothing more, and we go to bed since we're *REALLY* tired.

Next morning, the smell is still there. I walk around sniffing and finally realize the smell is strongest at my husband's side of the bed. Get down and look under the bed. EWWWWWWWW

One of the cats had brought in a wood-rat as a "gift" and it had laid there long enough to get crawly things in it... EWWWWWW.

I got rubber gloves and a plastic bag and managed to get it cleaned up... and cleaned the floor. And then cleaned it again. And then burned incense. And... slept on the couch that night cuz I just couldn't stand to be in the room.

So yeah. Thanks pets for all the, ahem, laughs?
