him and his son are awesome writers! i don't get why people think you're wierd if you read them. i have tried to offer my friends the book because its so awesome and they say "no, i don't want people to think i'm wierd like you." what?! just because i read a book about killer ghosts means i'm wierd?! if i start worshipping these killer ghosts....then i've got some problems. but its a book!!! its fiction!!!!!!

Because kids your age are still reading Harry Potter and Twilight! People who think glittery vampires are cool are not going to get killer cars and evil possesed thrift store items.

i read all the twilight books, just watched the harry potter movies! yep, i cheated. people are caught up on Jodi Picoult now, she's an awesome writer too. i love My Sister's keeper. stephen king and joe hill might have her beat. all the movies made from stephen king's books?!?! IT is still the scariest movie i have ever watched. i'm deadly afraid of clowns now. thanks stephen!

I saw the HP movies too but I read the books first - cheater! I have refused to read the twilight stuff, although my 16 yr old dd loves them. My sis is into Jodi picoult - not read her either.

As for SK movies, most are really bad. I have read all his books and the movies area just lame. Although, CUJO when I was 14 was scary as all get out. Mostly cause it was so plausable - ok plausable for SK. I did like the TV version of IT, Misery, Stand by Me, the Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile. I think the only book I didn't like was his non-fiction about how to write. When we read IT for a book club a couple years back, my Mother had issues with storm drains. She would NOT cross over one. In fact I don't think she has gotten over it yet! I hated the cover. I read it the first time when I was 16 and I would cover up the book with a pillow at night. I NEVER left the book open! Weird - maybe, but that clown thing was scary!!!

yeah, some are lame. i recorded them because i was like stephen king! cool they must be awesome!! they were so horrible i had to turn off the tv, i just couldn't take it! i can't even remember the names though. they had good ideas, but the movies were just bad, the books would be better. i better get hunting down some SK books....

OH, you might like Anne Rice and Dean Koontz (he's SK lite IMO).

I tried Clive Barker but he's a bit out there for me. I have gone to reading more historical fiction these days. Like Phillippa Gregory. I've had to branch out since SK and AR don't write as fast as I read!!

Have you read The Dark Tower Series? He's done writing it now so you wouldn't have to wait for the next issue - like I did. Man you kids have all the good stuff!!
