Its hard for a high-risk teen to do though, with too much freedom... they want to have fun and heck with the consequences..

Red! That sucks! I think the aunt is being a little selfish, but that's just my opinion. I would think that she would want him in a home that he could learn to live a normal life, not gang related, graduate high school and use his talent to better himself.
I think you have really opened his eyes to what he could have, and he'll take that knowledge and put it to good use. We'll just pray that he is not forced back into the gang life. My brother is gang related, so I know that once your in, your in! Your boy doesn't seem to want that life by what he writes, so he knows he has self worth and that's a good thing.
