Would he not have a choice of where he wants to live, since he is already a teenager? It will be sad if he has to go back somewhere that he doesn't want to be. I can tell he wants to be in a good place by what he writes. He is a good boy for you, because you have shown him what life is really suppose to be like, and you show him love and affection. I just can't imagine the pain you go through when they have to leave. My heart breaks for these children that have indured so much pain in their lives.

Hi! No he doesnt really have a say.... as i'm not his legal guardian.
His aunt is his legal guardian,, and shes saying that she wants him back home. Etc.. She thinks hes going to behave now,..,etc.
So... i just have to hope that he can keep up the good work himself!

Its hard for a high-risk teen to do though, with too much freedom... they want to have fun and heck with the consequences..

Red! That sucks! I think the aunt is being a little selfish, but that's just my opinion. I would think that she would want him in a home that he could learn to live a normal life, not gang related, graduate high school and use his talent to better himself.

I think you have really opened his eyes to what he could have, and he'll take that knowledge and put it to good use. We'll just pray that he is not forced back into the gang life. My brother is gang related, so I know that once your in, your in! Your boy doesn't seem to want that life by what he writes, so he knows he has self worth and that's a good thing.

Hugs for you,and hugs and prayers for this young man.

Part of me wishes he would emancipate himself, and stay in your home/city. To many kids get sent back into situations that are mistakes. I have watched gang programs on tv,and I just don't think it is a good idea. Besides the gang issue there is the drugs.People fall back into that so easy when the situation is right. And then there is the normal *life issues* with kids. His siblings can be a handful, and maybe the aunt wants him back to help with them. I know kids can help in ways with the little ones, but it can also be to much pressure at times.

I am sure he will go back. So I guess all we can do is pray. I hope he can return to you if things do get crazy when he goes to his aunts. Even if it is just for a night. Best wishes for him. His words are moving. I am sorry he had to grow up that way.

I wish you could send him to me. I miss having teenagers. And this boy sounds like he needs to be along ways away from where he was.
