Song bird feed

There shouldn't be any problem feeding out your old song bird feed... as long as it isn't rancid AND you do so as a TREAT at not more than 10% of the total daily chicken ration. :)

That way, even though the nutrient values might not be exactly right for chickens it won't mess up their standard intake of fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. :old

If the songbird feed has whole seeds in it... I MIGHT even try sprouting it. But IF fed as a treat... I don't see any issue at all. :pop
 
I have given my flock a scoop of regular bird seed many times with no ill effects. As @EggSighted4Life stated, make sure it's not rancid or moldy and don't overfeed with it.
